Obtained an order denying a criminal defendant’s motion to close pretrial evidentiary proceedings. The Orlando-area defendant, who was charged with 60 criminal counts—including sexual battery of a child under 12, lewd or lascivious molestation, and unlawful possession of materials depicting sexual performance by a child—moved for closure of multiple evidentiary hearings. Counsel successfully persuaded the court that the defendant had failed to demonstrate any of the required three elements necessary to foreclose Floridians’ right of access to court proceedings. State v.
