Giselle joined Shullman Fugate in August of 2017, after practicing at a respected Jacksonville, Florida law firm. She focuses on content, intellectual property, defamation and privacy issues.
Prior to attending law school, Giselle graduated from Florida State University with a degree in communication and sports management. While there, she had the opportunity to work for Universal Music Group as a marketing representative for various music labels. She also worked with the Sports Information Office at a large NCAA Division I university, where she drafted press releases and assisted with other media and press-related tasks.
While in law school, Giselle stayed busy as an editor of the Stetson Journal for Advocacy and the Law as well as with the Florida Association for Women Lawyers (FAWL) at Stetson. Deeply involved in the Florida legal community, she recently was elected to serve on the board of governors for the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section.
Giselle’s media background makes her a valuable asset to Shullman Fugate, as does her experience in a boutique intellectual property law firm, where she researched copyright and trademark issues and assisted with copyright and trademark prosecution and litigation.
Giselle was recently named a Fellow for The Florida Bar’s Business Law Section. Only six attorneys were selected to participate in this prestigious program. Giselle is also a former Fellow for The Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Smith, Jr. Leadership Academy. She also serves as a committee member for the Florida Bar Journal/News Editorial Board, and was appointed to the ABA’s IP Law Section’s CLE Board, as well as the ABA Forum on Communications Law’s Media Advocacy Workshop. She also serves as the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association’s Director of PR.
Giselle is fluent in Spanish and speaks conversational Italian.
