Shullman Fugate PLLC associate James M. Slater has been named a co-chair of the Florida chapter of the Copyright Society of the U.S.A. The Copyright Society is a non-profit organization that promotes copyright law awareness and education. Its mission is to “foster interest in and advance the study and understanding of copyright law in literature, music, art, theater, motion picture, television, computer software, architecture, and other works of authorship, and their distribution through both traditional and new media.”
The Copyright Society boasts more than 1,000 members nationwide. Members include attorneys and professionals from leading intellectual property firms, media and entertainment industries, authors of primary copyright law treatises, representatives of the Copyright Office, publishers, academics, and law students.
