The New York Times Company v. Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies

Obtained access to inspection reports for maternity homes registered by the Florida Association of Christian Child Caring Agencies (“FACCCA”) as part of The Times’ reporting on oversight of residential child-caring agencies in the State of Florida. The trial court found that FACCCA had been delegated a function of the Department of Children and Families and is therefore subject to Florida’s Public Records Act. The New York Times Company et al. v.
